Panasonic Dect 6.0 Expandable Titanium Digital Cordless Answering System – Dual Handset System

The unit I (a rather mature adult) purchased have found it to have much too many bells and whistles to enjoy making proper use of it. I presume if I were between 16 and 21 I would have the time and inclination to learn how to use it. Frankly, it’s more of a nuisance/hindrance than being useful.

One of the main reasons for purchasing this phone was the “talking caller ID”. This feature is totally useless on this phone. It was a feature we really liked on the Panasonic phone we had that stopped working and was the reason we went with another Panasonic phone. They have done something to cheapen the phone and this feature is worthless now.Totally garbled voice. Otherwise the phone is clear, but the operation is more complicated than the previous phone. Overall, I wish we could send it back!!!

Bought this item first in January ‘09 after doing some amount of research. Felt it was something I could depend on considering the fact that I do take a lot of conference calls from home. It worked well for just over a month. Then the handsets just started losing charge and dying on me. Till one fine day, one of them went completely lifeless… forever.
Called Amazon and their incredible customer service actually replaced the set despite it being past the time for return.
Got the new set…its over 3 months now and the same problems have started…the phones die on me unexpectedly right in the middle of a conversation. The battery charge display moves from 3 bars to one flashing bar all of a sudden. And this is on both handsets.
Do not go for this phone if your need is anything beyond the occasional short conversation. Really disappointed as I thought Panasonic would make the best phones in the market.

The phone is nice and works fine. The only bad thing is that the 2nd base charger does not work, so the 2nd phone I have to recharge it in the main base/charger, annoying! It happen the same to my bst friend.

Don’t listen to any negative reviews about this phone! This is my second cordless phone from Panasonic. My old one was great; a 2.4ghz cordless that lasted almost 6 years without issue. I wound up having to trash it due to the keypad starting to malfunction. The only issue I had with my old Panasonic was it conflicted with my Wifi router (whenever the phone rang, I would get booted offline), so when the phone died I decided to get a DECT 6.0 wifi-friendly cordless. When doing extensive research, I read mixed reviews that this model conflicted with your router. I wasn’t sure if I would have the same issue, so I risked it and bought the phone.
All I can say is, pay no attention! I rely 100% on wifi internet, and have had NO disruptions while being online, unlike my old Panasonic cordless. The range and battery life are most excellent; I walked a half-block away without as much as distortion. I will always stick with Panasonic for my phones. I don’t use the answering machine, but that’s an added bonus. I also tried Uniden, but returned it for this Panasonic.
